Us seniors are preparing for our portfolio review showcase! We wanted to create a chalk wall where everyone in the show could write a message and sign their name. One more thing to make our show something special and awesome!! This is the video of me putting up the logo with chalk…the video turns right-side up I promise.
JESSICA HISCHE PORTFOLIO REVIEW!
I am incredibly blessed to have been able to (virtually) meet my graphic design/illustrator/letterer hero Jessica Hische. I had a student portfolio review with her over Skype and it was awesome. She was so nice and funny and personable and she gave me great feedback and even showed me some tips and tricks in illustrator. Check out all of her amazing work here!
A professor at my school asked me and a couple other students to create chalk art drawings on the boards of the graphic design classrooms to add a little inspiration and prettiness to the classrooms. I created the famous quote by my lettering hero Jessica Hische, “The work you do while you procrastinate is the work you should probably do for the rest of your life”
A professor at my school asked me and a couple other students to create chalk art drawings on the boards of the graphic design classrooms to add a little inspiration and prettiness to the classrooms. We created the famous quote by Milton Glaser, “There are three responses to a piece of design – yes, no, and WOW! Wow is the one to aim for.”
I decided to do an independent study for a semester. For the area of focus I really wanted to take a stab at letterpress. This is a four color poster I created using woodblock type. I took inspiration from Taylor Swifts hit song, “Shake It Off”
The illustration on this is awesome. I love the color choices and the decorative details.
Such an awesome collection of typefaces and looks to browse through for inspiration. Might have to make this purchase for my collection!
“These charming, modern wedding invitations with earthy fall elements set the mood for Wesley and Mishelle’s October wedding through color palette, paper and printing texture. Baker’s twine was a nice touch, making the invitation look like an old-fashioned parcel.” — Duncan Robertson
I couldn’t have said it better myself!
Love, Love, Love Letterpress! “Trent Design created these lighthearted, self-promotional holiday coasters along with a companion website and Facebook page as useful and interactive gifts for existing and future clients. Each coaster features a fun possibly false “fact” about the history of coasters for recipients to investigate via the web resources. The project, which they intend to continue as a seasonal series, is an engaging way to keep clients’ desks clean and keep thinking about Trent Design.” — Duncan Robertson
My design hero
Jessica Hische. Where do I begin? Amazing. Thoughtful. Insightful. Creative beyond belief. Funny. Inspirational. Made it on her own. Incredible. I visit her sight on a daily basis. After being blown away by browsing through her work, I find myself visiting the store page and hope that one day I can afford to buy one of her typefaces.
